Natural gas power plants, like traditional coal-fired power plants, have direct power generation costs consisting of the following components:
(1) Depreciation cost of the total investment;
(2) operating and maintenance costs;
(3) Fuel costs.
For a natural gas power plant that is operating normally, the depreciation cost, operating and maintenance costs of the total investment are basically fixed, and there are fewer variables, which can be regarded as fixed costs. Fuel costs are subject to variable costs due to factors such as the price of natural gas and the amount of electricity generated by natural gas power plants.
